N605JB is a JetBlue Airways Corp Airbus A320-232, serial number 2368, registered to the carrier from 2005 and still on its certificate today. It first flew on 17 January 2005 under test registration F-WWDO before entering JetBlue service. The airframe's defining event came on 30 October 2025, when Flight 1230 from Cancun to Newark experienced a pitch excursion while cruising at 35,000 feet in smooth air and clear weather, losing about 100 feet of altitude before the crew diverted to Tampa; four flight attendants and 18 passengers sustained minor injuries. A service difficulty report pointed to a faulty Elevator Aileron Computer #2 causing an uncommanded pitch down, a finding serious enough that Airbus's preliminary technical assessment flagged a concern with ELAC software design, prompting Alert Operators Transmissions in late November 2025. The jet was back in service by spring, when on 19 March 2026 Flight B61245 hit brief but sharp turbulence during descent near Port Salerno, Florida, seriously injuring one cabin crew member. Stabilator's logged chapters show the aircraft cycling through Tampa, JFK, Boston and now Birmingham, with sister ships like N606JB and N603JB still active elsewhere in the JetBlue fleet.
221 Airbus A320-232 are in the FAA records; 188 still registered; 189 flew in the last year. Most sit with Jetblue Airways Corp (93) and Bank of Utah Trustee (28).
